WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Network Design, Deployment & Management
- a. Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructures including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- b. Configure and manage Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and VPN solutions (site-to-site and remote access) in line with best security practices.
- c. Administer and optimize LAN/WAN environments, VLANs, and routing protocols to ensure availability and performance.
- d. Implement and maintain network segmentation and access control policies.
- Security and Monitoring
- a. Monitor and analyse network traffic and logs to detect anomalies, intrusions, or performance issues. Conduct regular firewall rule audits and optimize configurations for performance and compliance.
- b. Analyse network capacity and availability to recommend enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- a. Proactively monitor network health using industry tools.
- b. Engage in proactive and reactive troubleshooting, including root cause analysis (RCA) and fault diagnosis, to resolve complex network issues.
- c. Manage device access and security settings to prevent unauthorized access and ensure data integrity.
- d. Perform preventive maintenance and apply firmware updates or patches to network and security appliances.
- Client Support and Issue Resolution
- a. Provide technical support and resolve issues for clients remotely or on-site, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- b. Use industry-standard tools such as Raiseaticket helpdesk to manage support tickets and ensure effective issue tracking and resolution.
- c. Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, network diagrams, and change management logs.
- d. Participate in change management reviews to ensure stability and security during deployments.
- Project and Design Collaboration
- a. Lead and collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to design and deliver network and security solutions that meet operational and compliance requirements.
- b. Participate in technology assessments and recommend improvements aligned with best practices.
- Training and Professional Development
- a. Continually enhance technical skills through industry-relevant training and certification programs.
- b. Research and integrate new technologies into network practices, contributing to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Required
- 1. Network & Security Operations (2–3 Years Experience)
- a. Actively manage day-to-day network and security tasks, leveraging 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a networking or security-focused role.
- b. Support incident response, troubleshoot user issues, and ensure stable and secure network operations.
- 2. Clear & Effective Communication
- a. Communicate technical findings, incident updates, and configuration changes clearly and concisely in written and spoken English.
- b. Prepare technical documentation, change reports, risk assessments, and operational procedures as required.
- 3. Cisco Network Administration
- a. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching, and wireless equipment in production environments.
- b. Perform firmware upgrades, adjust network configurations, and validate network performance.
- c. Apply strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, STP, WLAN, and related networking technologies during operations and troubleshooting.
- 4. Next-Generation Firewall Deployment & Management
- a. Deploy, configure, and optimize NGFW solutions such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA/Firepower.
- b. Create and maintain security policies, NAT rules, IPS/IDS configurations, and application-layer controls.
- c. Implement and manage VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN), including site-to-site and remote-access setups.
- 5. Network Design & Implementation
- a. Contribute to the design and deployment of secure, scalable network infrastructures from the ground up.
- b. Apply industry best practices when building or expanding networks, including segmentation, redundancy, and security hardening.
- 6. Packet Capture & Traffic Analysis
- a. Perform packet captures using tools such as Wireshark to diagnose performance issues, network anomalies, and potential security threats.
- b. Analyse traffic patterns to identify misconfigurations, bottlenecks, and malicious behavior.
- 7. Performance & Capacity Optimization
- a. Monitor network capacity, availability, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- b. Recommend and implement enhancements such as link upgrades, QoS adjustments, or architectural changes.
- 1. Network & Security Operations (2–3 Years Experience)
- Preferred
- 1. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, CEH, or CompTIA Security+. Brand specific certifications will be considered an asset.
- 2. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Networking, or related field.
- 3. Experience with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, or cloud networking (Azure/AWS) is considered an asset.
- 4. Valid Driving B License.
